Exam and Presentation

Sophomores
Your exam will be on Tuesday, February 2nd. Read the selections from Gulliver's Travels for tomorrow, and answer the questions following Lilliput, including the vocabulary. The vocab will be on next week's test, as well.

Seniors
Your presentations are DUE before class tomorrow. I plan on getting there early and creating a public folder. Please don't forget to share your Slides with me. There will be a 10 point late penalty for those that don't get it done by 8:00. In other words, go ahead and share it! All changes between now and then will be saved.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

What better way to spend Halloween than reading a story that begins with a beheading? For the next week or so, we'll be discussing Arthurian Literature, beginning with a look at " Sir Gawain and the Green Knight ," the anonymous tale of a test of courtly love, involving a supernatural green knight and a bet. For more information on the poem, read this introduction . I've also included a prose translation that you can compare with the verse translation we have in our book.

Homework

Seniors Your exam is on Thursday, and your final essay is on Friday. I'll talk more about the essay in class tomorrow. Also, the senior auction project lacks one more important detail - your memories! We will spend a bit of time tomorrow in class writing down some of your fondest memories of your senior year, and the rest of your time at RO.  Sophomores Read "Lines Composed a few miles above Tintern Abbey," and complete the questions at the end of the selection in your book. As always, please use complete sentences and cite frequently from the text.
