Homework and Grades

Sophomores
Your quiz has been moved to Monday, and your homework is to answer questions #2-8 following "Mark of the Beast."

Seniors
Your end-of-term grades have been posted on Edline. In order to determine if you have to take the final, average the first and second semester grades. This should include all nine weeks and the semester exam. AP students are automatically exempt from the final. Please email me if you are uncertain about your grade.

Finals will take place during your normally scheduled period, in my room. The essay will be written in class and should be at least 500 words.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

What better way to spend Halloween than reading a story that begins with a beheading? For the next week or so, we'll be discussing Arthurian Literature, beginning with a look at " Sir Gawain and the Green Knight ," the anonymous tale of a test of courtly love, involving a supernatural green knight and a bet. For more information on the poem, read this introduction . I've also included a prose translation that you can compare with the verse translation we have in our book.

Homework

Seniors Your exam is on Thursday, and your final essay is on Friday. I'll talk more about the essay in class tomorrow. Also, the senior auction project lacks one more important detail - your memories! We will spend a bit of time tomorrow in class writing down some of your fondest memories of your senior year, and the rest of your time at RO.  Sophomores Read "Lines Composed a few miles above Tintern Abbey," and complete the questions at the end of the selection in your book. As always, please use complete sentences and cite frequently from the text.
