Homework

Sorry I couldn't be there today. Here is your work if you missed it:

Sophomores
Read The Diary of Samuel Pepys in the handout OR HERE. After reading, answer questions at the end of the selection (comp check and #2-5). Questions are due Friday.

Seniors
You have been reading a series of essays in the book on body image. Please answer questions from TWO essays (excluding the photo). I haven't forgotten the vocabulary. The snow day threw us off schedule, and I will post or hand out a list tomorrow.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

What better way to spend Halloween than reading a story that begins with a beheading? For the next week or so, we'll be discussing Arthurian Literature, beginning with a look at " Sir Gawain and the Green Knight ," the anonymous tale of a test of courtly love, involving a supernatural green knight and a bet. For more information on the poem, read this introduction . I've also included a prose translation that you can compare with the verse translation we have in our book.

Homework

Seniors Your exam is on Thursday, and your final essay is on Friday. I'll talk more about the essay in class tomorrow. Also, the senior auction project lacks one more important detail - your memories! We will spend a bit of time tomorrow in class writing down some of your fondest memories of your senior year, and the rest of your time at RO.  Sophomores Read "Lines Composed a few miles above Tintern Abbey," and complete the questions at the end of the selection in your book. As always, please use complete sentences and cite frequently from the text.
