English II Honors students are required to read extra books throughout the semester - one per nine weeks - and these books are arranged by the periods we are studying in class. I suggest starting early and reading "actively," taking notes or marking the book for content in the following areas: setting, mood, character development, and plot turning points. Always consider the context of the book, as well.
Your assessment will come at the end of each nine week term, and non-honors students have an opportunity for extra points by reading and writing about the same list of books. Below is the list, which will periodically be revised based on class interest:
